About Emberly Slavin, LAc

in Seattle
Emberly Slavin, L.Ac

I am Emberly Slavin and an acupuncturist in Seattle, WA at Zen Attitude Acupuncture. Having the privilege of growing up in the beautiful state of Washington, I indulged myself in outdoor activities and team sports including the swim team, volleyball, basketball, and competitive fastpitch. I was only 12 years old when I acquired a debilitating sports injury that led me to the discovery of acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. Thanks to acupuncture, I was able to continue my rigorous athletic routine pain free.

My acupuncturist at the time gave me a book called, “The Web That Has No Weaver”, which introduced me to the concept of a holistic mind and body connection that has been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. The book made me even more intrigued to learn about this form of pain management. Simply put, pain and curiosity propelled my desire for a career in Chinese Medicine.

In 2016, I received my Masters of Science in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Bastyr University and was an intern acupuncturist at Bastyr Center for Natural Health. I’ve also had the opportunity to observe the integration of Eastern and Western Medicine at a three week long intensive externship at Shuguang and Longhua hospitals in Shanghai, China focusing on Traumatology, Internal Medicine and Gynecology.

I sincerely value spending quality time with my family and friends, adventuring the outdoors, gardening, landscaping, going to music festivals, and making arts and crafts. If I wasn’t an acupuncturist I’d have a career making arts and crafts and/or working with nature.

My primary goal when I provide treatment is to stimulate the body’s natural self-healing abilities, which improves quality of life and helps my patients reach their maximum level of health. I am passionate about treating women's health issues, phychoemotional concerns, insomnia, headaches/migraines, acute and chronic pain conditions, and autoimmune disorders. My treatments may include acupuncture, electroacupuncture, cupping, lifestyle and dietary advice, or Chinese herbal medicine. I look forward to working with you to attain and sustain the level of health you seek – mind, body, and spirit.
