Nicole McCormick, L.Ac.

Nicole Villarreal McCormick is a licensed acupuncturist and social worker from Seattle, Washington. Nicole received her Bachelor’s of the Arts from The Evergreen State College and subsequently went to the Kyrgyz Republic with the Peace Corps. This served to be the start of Nicole’s interest in medicine, mental health and working with diverse communities. Shortly after completing her Master of Acupuncture and East Asian Medicine at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine (SIEAM) in 2013, Nicole began a dual practice in both acupuncture and social work, working as an acupuncturist and as a social worker in organizations such as the Downtown Emergency Service Center.

In 2020, Nicole helped establish a student acupuncture clinic at the Pike Market Senior Center and Downtown Food Bank with the SIEAM, which she currently supervises. In 2022, Nicole began the Master of Social Work program at the University of Washington. She is currently finishing up her advanced clinical social work practicum at Harborview’s Mental Health and Addiction Services. Nicole is interested in mental health, primary and secondary trauma or PTSD, chronic pain, and the ways in which traditional medicines can be used integratively within conventional healthcare systems and evidence based practices.

Outside of work, Nicole enjoys connecting with her heritage through learning the ins and outs of traditional Mexican cooking, tending to plants, walking, and spending time with her family and friends.
